Getting information on the spot: Opening days and times

When can I come to your office ?

We’re open Monday to Friday from 9.00 am to 7.30 pm and on Saturday from 11.00 am to 4.00 pm at 7, rue Duvergier, 75019 Paris. The nearest underground station is "Crimée" on line 7.

Monday is a very busy day: we therefore recommend that you plan your visit for:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 10.00 am and 7.00 pm and on Saturday between 11.00 am and 4.00 pm.

BEING in France: Renewing my residence permit

I arrived in France with a residence permit (student visa) and I’d like to renew it. Is this possible ?

Yes, these are the administrative formalities that you must follow:

1: Register your application on site or online:

  • Latest university diploma obtained (or equivalent to high-school qualification)
  • Proof of enrollment from last year
  • Your grade report form last year
  • CV + a letter explaining your study project in France
  • Passport
  • Photocopy of visa and/or Residence Permit and/or Renewal receipt and/or Photocopy of your next appointment at the Prefecture

2: Your application is examined: 3 working days

3: Once your application has been accepted:

  • Payment of the registration fees (45€) + payment of all the Student 20-hour intensive English lessons
    12 weeks : 945€
    24 weeks : 1795€
    36 weeks : 2620€
    ("Foreign Student" status)
  • Documents issued on registration:
    - registration certificate
    - student card
    - payment receipt.
  • Documents issued on request at the end of the course:
    - attendance certificate
    - marks statement or level certificate
    - the CAMPUS LANGUES private institute diploma for students who have followed at least a term’s lessons (under certain conditions)

Is CAMPUS LANGUES recognised by the Ministry of Education?

Yes, CAMPUS LANGUES is a Private Institute registered with the Paris Education Authority as a Private Higher Education Establishment.

I haven’t been able to renew my residence permit. Will I receive a refund for the lessons I’ve paid for at CAMPUS LANGUES?

No, if your application for a renewed residence permit is turned down by the Prefecture, you will not receive a refund from CAMPUS LANGUES.

Do I have to pay the registration fee if I’ve already studied at CAMPUS LANGUES?

You only pay the registration fee (45€) once a year.

Do you issue a registration certificate for the renewal of my residence permit?

Yes, we issue the following documents once you’ve registered for all the Student 20-hour intensive English lessons:
- the registration certificate you need in order to obtain your residence permit
- your student card
- a receipt for your payment

What dates are shown on my registration certificate?
Your course start date and the length of your course is based on the number of paid courses are shown on the registration certificate.

What do I do to obtain a registration certificate?

Which documents do you issue at the end of my course?

We issue the following documents on request at the end of your course:
- attendance certificate
- marks statement or level certificate
- the CAMPUS LANGUES private institute diploma for students who have followed at least a term’s lessons (under certain conditions)

Can I register without taking the test?
No, unless you’re a complete beginner. The test is used to establish your level and offer you a class that’s appropriate to your language needs.

You’re a beginner if you’ve never studied English or if you have no knowledge of the English language (you only know a few words and 2 or 3 phrases at most).

Is there a deadline for registering for intensive English lessons?
No, but we recommend that you register 2 or 3 weeks before starting your lessons in order to book your place.

How much exactly do my Student 20-hour intensive English lessons cost?

If you need a registration certificate in order to renew your Student Residency Permit, you must pay for your courses in full.

For example, 20-hour intensive Englishcourse: 24 weeks
20 hours a week for 24 weeks 1795€ + Registration fee 45€ = 1840€
Speak Out method = 33€
Audio phonology headsets (optional): 35€
You will receive a certificate of enrollment based on the number of paid courses.

If you’re looking to improve your English and you don’t need a registration certificate in order to renew your residence permit, you may register for 1, 2 or 3 months or more.

For example, 20-hour intensive Englishcourse: 8 weeks
20 hours a week for 8 weeks 675€ + Registration fee 45€ = 720€
Speak Out method = 33€

How do I pay for my 20-hour intensive English course?

On the spot: by bank card, cash or cheque

Can I pay for my lessons in instalments?

No, you cannot pay for your lessons in instalments. You have to pay the total amount of your courses the day you register. You can pay by cash or credit card.

Can I pay for my lessons on www.campuslangues.com?

No, you can’t pay for your lessons on our website. Please make an appointment with an academic advisor in order to pay for your lessons.

Where do the 20-hour intensive English lessons take place?

We have a number of centres in Paris and at La Défense. For all registrations and requests for information, please contact our head office at 7 rue Duvergier (Tel: 01 40 05 92 42):

PARIS 19: We have 2 centres in the 19th arrondissement for intensive English lessons:
9-11 rue de L’Argonne, 75019 Paris. The nearest underground station is “Corentin Carriou” on line 7.

When can I start my 20-hour intensive English lessons?

- every Monday for non-beginners (subject to availability of places)
- approximately every two months for complete beginners.

When should I register for my 20-hour intensive English lessons?

You should register at least a week before your lessons are due to start.
For example, to start on a Monday, you should register before the previous Friday.

Can I choose the times of my English lessons?

Yes, depending on your level and the availability of places. The English test will work out your level precisely and we’ll agree on a suitable time.
Daytime lessons: 9.30 am-12.30 pm or 2.00 pm-5.00 pm

How many students will there be in my class?

There’s an average of 20 students per class (10 to a maximum 25 people).

What’s the average age of CAMPUS LANGUES students?

Most of our students are aged between 20 and 30 but we welcome students of all ages.

What are the most common nationalities?

There are over 130 nationalities in the school. We welcome students from every continent and from all horizons.

How many levels do you offer?

CAMPUS LANGUES offers 9 levels of English lessons.
They follow the scale of levels defined by the CEFR, which has 5 levels.
We have subdivided the levels to allow you to study in an evenly-matched group that’s ideally suited to your language needs.

How long does it take to move from one level to another?

It all depends on the effort you put in, the work you do on your own and how much English you use on a daily basis.
The time taken to cover each level varies: the higher the level, the longer it takes.
For example: Level A1 lasts for approximately 80 hours, while level B1 lasts for approximately 150 hours.

Is preparation for TOEIC and TOEFL included in the 20-hour intensive English course?

No. We offer general intensive English lessons. If you’re looking to prepare for TOEIC or TOEFL, you may register for our specialist TOEIC and TOEFL preparation courses at our centre in La Défense.

How do I know whether I’m making progress

You’re tested every week and you have an exam at the end of each level.

Is my teacher a native English speaker?

Most of our teachers are native English speakers. The few that are not native English speakers have demonstrated their expertise over several years of teaching and show the same high standards in their teaching method.

Do I have to use a text book?

Yes, it’s compulsory to buy the Speak Out method. Your teacher will give you the references. You can buy it at your course centre.

I need a registration certificate: how do I obtain one

It’s issued when you register for 20-hour intensive English lessons after paying for your courses in full.

I need a student card: how do I obtain one?

It’s issued when you register for 20-hour intensive English lessons after paying for your courses in full. Bring a photo.

I need a marks statement: how do I obtain one?

All documents may be requested on MonCampus (www.campuslangues.com/user). Set up your account then go to the request form. You’ll be informed as to how long it takes to obtain the document.

I need an attendance certificate: how do I obtain one

This official document certifies that you attended the English lessons. It shows the number of weeks during which you attended lessons. You may request this document on MonCampus (www.campuslangues.com/user). Set up your account then go to the request form. The certificate will be sent to you by post within 2 weeks.

I need a level certificate: how do I obtain one?

All documents may be requested on MonCampus (www.campuslangues.com/user). Set up your account then go to the request form. You’ll be informed as to how long it takes to obtain the document.

I need a diploma from the CAMPUS LANGUES Private Institute: how do I obtain one?

The diploma is issued to students who have attended a minimum of 12 weeks’ lessons on the condition that their level and attendance have been regularly validated. The teacher issues the diploma during the lesson.

Special circumstances: absence / changes / postponement / holidays

Can I break off my course for 2 weeks?

No, students may not ask for a start date postponement or a lesson postponement  during their course.

Can I break off my intensive English lessons and take English lessons in the evening?

No, you cannot change courses.

Will I have the option of changing courses if I wish?

- changing level: your teacher needs to have noted that your level is not suited to that of his/her class. You should therefore make your request to your teacher.

How can I cancel my registration for intensive English lessons?

Before lessons start(minimum 8 days beforehand, by registered letter with proof of receipt): you’ll receive refund for the lessons, less the sum of 50 € for administrative costs and bank charges. In no other circumstances may lessons be postponed or refunded.
- After lessons have started:

No refunds may be given, except in cases of "force majeure" only (a major unforeseeable event, student repatriated for health reasons, with supporting document), for which remaining lessons will be refunded, less the sum of 50 € for administrative costs and bank charges. A week’s lessons may not be refunded if the student has attended one of the lessons.

Refunds will not be given if a registration certificate has been issued.

I applied for an intensive English course with you and have been accepted. I have registered with you. However, the Prefecture refuses to renew my. I therefore wish to obtain a refund on all my lessons. Is this possible?

No. Before you register with CAMPUS LANGUES, you must make sure that you fulfil the conditions required for renewing your residence permit at the Prefecture.>
